The glory of Padmanabhapuram Palace

The Padmanabhapuram Palace was built by the rulers of Travancore between 16th century to 18th century A.D. It is situated at Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu. Padmanabhapuram Palace , the silent spectator of ancient cultural history of Kerala is constructed by teak wood in combination with stone and bricks. The interior of the palace is enhanced with impressive wood carvings and fantastic mural paintings. A perfect piece of architecture, the palace shows the gradual development of architecture and mural paintings achieved by Kerala. The palace is now maintained jointly by the archaeological departments of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
